Reclaiming Vacant Properties: Strategies for Rebuilding America’s Neighborhoods is sponsored by the National Vacant Properties Campaign. The NVPC is a program of Smart Growth America, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, and the Metropolitan Institute at Virginia Tech. NVPC’s mission is to help communities prevent abandonment and reclaim vacant and abandoned properties.

 

 

     


The Federal Reserve Bank of
Cleveland
is the principal planning partner of the conference. Established in 1914 as part of the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland serves Ohio, western Pennsylvania, eastern Kentucky, and the panhandle of West Virginia. The Bank has branch offices in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.

 


 

TRAVEL & TRANSPORTATION

Pittsburgh International Airport is approximately 25 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. You can easily take a bus, shuttle, cab, or car to the Omni:

The Port Authority of Allegheny County's Airport Flyer
This bus runs every 20 minutes (30 on weekends) and costs less than $2.50.

Airport Shuttle
For $19 one way, Express Shuttle will provide transportation to any downtown Pittsburgh hotel. See their kiosk in the baggage area, or call (412) 321-4990.

Taxi
The taxi rate from Pittsburgh International Airport to downtown Pittsburgh is approximately $32.

Drive

HOUSING

As of August 22, our initial room block at the Omni William Penn is SOLD OUT. The hotel placed more rooms in a new block that are available now. The new rate is $149 per night for a single/double. You can call 1 (800) 843-6664 or use the link below to reserve your room, as long as they are available.

Reservations should be made directly with the Omni William Penn or with the hotel of your choice. To take advantage of the special Reclaiming Vacant Properties conference rate, be sure to make your reservations at the Omni by Friday, August 24, 2007. After this date the official reservation block will be released and the hotel may charge higher rates. All rates are per room, per night and are subject to state and local taxes.
